The party was a right laugh!
Thanks to everyone who managed to make it - particularly those who travelled
a long way, notably Olly who flew over from Holland and others from
various corners of England and Wales - it was much appreciated. Thanks
also to Nora, my dear mother for help with food, Dom for loan of the
barbecue, and the inimitable GeEkgiRL
for musical entertainment.
As I remember most people were at least as trollied as me, we got photos
of (almost) everyone on the bike (see below) and
generally people quoffed and imbibed untill their faces glowed and eyes
glinted. By the time the band kicked up most people were already fairly
well lubricated. They appeared in orange boilersuits, at first I feared
they had come to take me away, but soon we all relaxed and they were
typically fantastic.
Afterwards, the guitars went round and the whole front room was singing
beatles songs and I remember a long but amusing Singalongwithbrucie®
version of Sympathy for the Devil! The dining room meantime had a definate
OldSkool vibe going on.... Later on there was a most amusing chain of
events involving the bathroom, a bedroom, an aussie bird, a drunken
man and a frightened cat which makes me chuckle to this day! Thanks
for coming everyone! |
